The end.

This summer due to so much rain i have done only about three practices in the field.  I have to admit that i much prefered shooting a recurve without a sight afterall robin hood never used a sight.

I was glad to throw of all the tecnical stuff it was like being a kid again but wether i will do anymore i am not sure, i have finished doing indoors i found it boring i am thinking maybe its time for me to take on a slightly gentler sport.

I still love archery but i think i achieved all i can in one season four medals and a trophy in 2010, many might have thought i didnt train hard enough and its true but it took a lot of  pain and endurance to achieve what i did at the ripe old age of sixty eight and i am proud of what i achieved had i been younger and fitter  maybe things would have been different and i could have trained harder . I am just glad that i had the opportunity to do some thing i had always wanted to do at last and took it to a level of achievment.

More fun.

It is a shame that some of the people you might get along with pretty well just see you as a competitor and not a friend.  We still have the chauvenist pigs who hate competing against a woman and if she gets one step ahead they show there annoyance by being anti social.  Pity we cant put aside gender for once.

Some people want to win at all costs i have had some of the knocking the bow when i am about to shoot. Causeing a distraction, anything to put you of your stroke.

I dont concider myself such a good shot that anybody need worry about me but they do.

I am now shooting barebow instead of compound and enjoying it so much more it is so less complicated and more enjoyable wish i had done it before. But i dont think i will be doing any competitions.

Golf and archery.

The weights piled on over winter but towards the end of February which wont be long i am cutting down on the chocalates ice cream and cakes and getting ready to get back into action.  I often feel better when i am active and its important as we get older to stay on the move as much as possible.

My partner and i will be back playing golf again just for fun competing against each other.  I swear he gets some quiet practice some where i dont know about but i still leave him with a long face and a moody when i beat him, he can wack the ball furthur than me but i can putt better.

My game is still archery i get more of a buzz from it than i do from golf  i find it much more exciting so i know i will be back there giving it a go with no great expectations after such a long break, it will be like rding a horse after years of break from it i will be left with some aces and pains to remember.

Golf is a much more relaxed game archery gives an adrenalin rush  like riding a wild horse thrills and spills, you keep going back for more.

Lazy me.

I have done no archery atall through the winter having given up the indoor stuff.   It is too cold outdoors for me so i know how hard it will be come summer when i venture out to give it another go and this time i intend to try barebow.

I know we are not supposed to keep changing bows at least not in the early days but this is my third year as an archer and i already did that, it was to my regret because it set me back a lot.  But i now can see that scores may not be so high but certainly bare bow is far less complicated and i am keen to give it a try come summer and i am not entering the olympics at my age scores dont matter too much to me.

Too many people i see flogging themselves to achieve great heights and one day find themselves asking why they bothered, who cares, i dont want to be one of them.
